THE DRIVER
For the 2005 season, Steve will be autocrossing a very tricked out Mazda Miata in the SCCA Street Modified 2 class. Look for Steve at various events in Minnesota, Wisconsin, and Iowa. He will also be attending a few SCCA National and Pro Solo events on his way to the Solo II Nationals in September.
THE CAR
Before it's career as an autocross car, Steves Miata started life as a Base Model. It was purchased new by Bob Palmblad in Florida, and has never seen a Northern Winter. Bob developed a well-prepped Street Modified 2 (SM2) contender, with the car taking 2nd and 7th at the 2004 SCCA Solo2 Nationals. Now it's all Steves! The biggest challenge for Steve in 2005 will be learning how to drive the little beast to somewhere near it's potential.
Horsepower Stuff:
Kenne Bell Twin Screw Supercharger with Laminova air-water intercooler. Includes 15psi, 12psi, and 10psi pulleys
Haltech E6K engine management system with 550CC fuel injectors
MSD DIS-2 ignition with MSD DIS coils and Magnecor 8.5mm plug wires
Jackson Racing header, Racing Beat race mid-pipe and Roadster Sport muffler
Torsen limited slip with 3.909 rear end
ACT clutch
Wheel Horsepower: Approx. 270
1/4 mile time: 12.7 @ 112 MPH

Custom valved Koni 3012 aluminum double-adjustable coilover shocks with 500lb front and 300lb rear springs
Racing Beat tubular front anti-swaybar
Stock rear anti-swaybar
Mazda Motorsports Polyurethane bushings in all control arms
Mazda Motorsports stiffer engine and differential mounts
225/50-14 Kumho V710 on 14 x 9 Diamond Wheels
